A couple of my presentations (as of May 12, 08) have been featured on the front page of the SlideShare website. They have chosen a recent one I gave as part of the Voyage of Discovery lecture series at the NHM, and an old one on the Scratchpad project. After messing about with SlideShare and Google Docs I decided to opt for SlideShare. Issues to do with font embedding in PowerPoint on a Mac, meant I had to convert my back catalog to PDF, but I am impressed with the quality of the final result. The PDF's even render well when full screen. This also gave me a (painful) opportunity to deal with overlapping animations, which would have caused problems for SlideShare. Some of my presentations will still have issues. Movies are not embedded and since I'm increasingly using these, this will cause problems for the future. Also animations, intended to aid understanding will be missing. My (almost) complete back catalogue is available from the SlideShare site, and I have embedded these in a new presentations list that will shortly be available from the presentations link on this site.
